A close friend of mine recently learned this lesson the hard way, and his experience perfectly captures the hilarious, awkward, and sometimes heartbreaking gap between fantasy and reality in this town.
The Long-Time Date with an Adult Film Star
My buddy matched with a girl on a popular dating app. Her profile pictures looked like a high-budget advertisement for an adult film—sharp jawline, a perfectly narrow nose, huge expressive eyes, and flawless, glowing skin. She looked like an absolute superstar.
They agreed on a Long Time arrangement. When she arrived at his place, he was blown away. She looked exactly like her photos. The styling was immaculate, the vibe was perfect, and the evening was everything he had hoped for.
But then, the night started winding down.
